Paramount-owned UK broadcaster Channel 5 has ordered a three-part archaeological series fronted by historian and TV presenter Dan Snow and produced by Little Dot Studios’ History Hit.
The World’s Greatest Archaeological Discoveries (working title, 3×90′) is C5’s first coproduction with History Hit, the SVoD service set up by Snow and acquired two years ago by All3Media-backed YouTube channels specialist Little Dot.
The show will see Snow breathe new life into incredible sites including Egypt’s Valley of the Kings and the Roman town of Pompeii. Each instalment will delve into the lives of the archaeologists who made the discoveries and showcase their astonishing feats.
The World’s Greatest Archaeological Discoveries was ordered by C5 commissioning editor and VP of non-scripted UK originals Lucy Willis. It will be directed by Nick Stuart Powell and Bianca Zamfira, produced by Nick Gillam Smith and executive produced by History Hit head of originals Bill Locke and Snow.
