In the first few episodes, Don will investigate the Declaration of Independence, Oak Ridge: The Secret City which Built the Atomic Bomb, Battle of Midway and Pontiac’s Rebellion. Listeners will also be transported back in time to witness Thomas Jefferson write the declaration at Graff House in Philadelphia, visit the city in Tennessee which helped build the atomic bomb, watch codebreakers during the Battle of Midway and hear all about Chief Powhatan as he prepares for war with English colonists.

Listeners can also look forward to guest appearances, including; Saul David, Ray Smith, Dan Snow, Ned Blackhawk and Kathy Feeley, to name a few.

Don Wildman, American History Hit podcast host said: “To be part of the History Hit team and lead its first step into podcasting American History to the masses is really exciting. Engaging people in history is something that I’m hugely passionate about and to bring American history to listeners around the world is fantastic. The subject matter for each episode is so rich and I can’t wait to get under the skin of each event; sharing it with both current history fans and those that are about to discover it.”

Dan Snow, co-founder and creative director of History Hit added: “North America has such a vibrant and complex history, we’re really looking forward to bringing this to life with Don. He’s a fantastic narrator, not only will he be able to add colour for those who know a little of America’s history but for those who don’t, he’ll make them feel like they were there. With an increasing appetite for American history, this podcast allows us to discuss key events and reflect on how they impact today’s American society. We very much look forward to hearing what people think of our latest podcast.”
