Little Dot Studios Becomes a Certified B Corporation®

Multi-platform production company, social media agency and digital media network, Little Dot Studios has achieved B Corp™ certification, making it one of only 2,500* UK companies alongside The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, Sipsmith Gin and The Jamie Oliver Group. This places Little Dot Studios among a very small number of media organisations to meet this benchmark - a rarity in an industry responsible for vast content output, complex global productions and operational ecosystems, and rapidly evolving environmental responsibilities.

Verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp™ movement, the achievement demonstrates that Little Dot Studios meets the high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability alongside a commitment to goals beyond shareholder value. The rigorous review and reporting process took over two years to complete and assesses the entirety of the business’s operations and covers impact areas related to practices around governance, workers, community, the environment and customers. This long-term commitment reflects years of planning, measurement and restructuring across global operations for the organisation and its subsidiaries, including specialist sport and branded content production agency WING and Dan Snow’s History Hit podcast network and SVOD service.

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says: “We are pleased to have B Corps™ of all shapes and sizes as part of our community - from startups to multinationals and across many different industries. Business is a powerful force and B Corps™ demonstrate that positive impact is possible in any sector. Welcoming Little Dot Studios is an exciting moment for the digital media and production industry. B Lab UK and the rest of the B Corp™ community are really pleased that the company is paving the way for a new way of doing things.”

Dan Jones, CEO, Little Dot Studios, said: “Digital media is often overlooked in sustainability conversations. We are proving that large-scale production and distribution can be done responsibly, and we encourage the industry to follow. This achievement symbolises the importance of building a business which puts people and purpose at the heart of what we do for our clients, our staff, and the industry. Media, production and communication organisations have a huge role to play in leaving a positive impact on people and the planet. Little Dot Studios has a desire to hold ourselves accountable and inspire change by reducing impact and driving sustainability across our networks. We are immensely proud of how far we have come and achieving B Corp™ certification shows we are committed to creating a more purpose-driven, sustainable future - whilst also producing industry-leading work.”

As a certified B Corp™, Little Dot joins a global community of just under 10,000 organisations globally holding B Corp™ certification, spanning 102 countries. Only a fraction of these operate at the scale, pace, complexity and volume of content that defines the digital media sector.

This milestone represents the next step in the company’s ambitious Impact Plan. Little Dot Studios has consistently been named one of the top ‘Great Places to Work’ in media since 2022. The business is a Living Wage employer across its staff and suppliers, a proud Race at Work signatory, publishes an annual Impact Report and retains the highest ISO standards. It has been verified Carbon Neutral back to inception, has reduced its emissions by 68% since 2021, and is firmly on track to achieve Net Zero by 2030. B Corp™ certification underscores this ongoing sustainability journey, strengthening the company’s commitment to measuring, improving, and transparently reporting its impact through operational elements like travel and energy use, to the effect of data storage, advertising and streaming content.

Little Dot Studios’ sustainability roadmap has been co-led by sustainability lead Saunders Carmichael-Brown - a respected creative producer and digital presenter with more than a decade of climate-first media experience across Formula E, E1 and Endurance Antarctica. He has also completed studies in 'Climate Change & Global Impact' led by leading climate scientist Professor Michael E. Mann, bringing authoritative direction to the company’s transformation strategy.

Saunders Carmichael Brown, Sustainability Lead at Little Dot Studios, added: “Today marks a huge milestone for Little Dot Studios. Becoming a certified B Corp™ is the conclusion of an extensive and thorough process involving transparency, commitment and passion, and the achievement stretches across all of our global operations and subsidiaries, including History Hit and WING. With the support of Dan and the whole Little Dot team worldwide, we’ve made significant strides in developing a comprehensive understanding of what impact really means and what progress looks like, balancing profit and purpose to create a progressive, inclusive business that’s good for people and the planet.”

Who Little Dot Studios works with also plays a central role in its story. The organisation has increasingly focused on partnering with brands and clients that share its core values, delivering projects such as the fifth series of 'Building a Sustainable Future' for CNBC; facilitating live-streams for COP, DAVOS and the UN; producing work for the Earthshot Prize; and documentaries including 'Endurance' for National Geographic Documentary Films. Its subsidiary WING has also produced impactful work for Project Everyone, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, TED Ideas Search, and the multi-award winning campaign 'Take a Breath' featuring Tom Hiddleston for UNICEF and Formula E, a short film designed to raise awareness of clean air. Most recently, Little Dot also announced its partnership with the British Red Cross. With clients increasingly seeking partners capable of delivering credible, sustainable storytelling at scale, Little Dot Studios is uniquely positioned to meet this growing demand.

Across hundreds of clients producing and distributing thousands of hours of video content per month, Little Dot Studios’ certification signals a shift in what large-scale digital content companies can, and should, achieve. With global emissions from digital infrastructure rapidly rising, the company believes the media industry must evolve now - not later.
